Welcome to the 2008-2009 School Year!

The Califon School has been cleaned, painted and spruced up for the coming school year.   Our gymnasium has been painted purple and white – purple for our school colors – GO COUGARS!!

The library/media center has lots more room now with furniture having been moved around.    On the school field, Project Fit America equipment has been set up by a wonderful group of volunteers – it looks GREAT!

Inside we are adding five new Smartboards for rooms 7, 5, 4, 3 and 2.   A special thank you goes to the PTA for helping to fund this purchase.   Our teachers spent three days over the summer in training at Centenary College so they can make optimum use of this fantastic equipment.

Our teachers all have a web page which I encourage you to look at. We are constantly adding new information to our web site.

We will be starting the year with a newly developed math curriculum for grades k-8.   The middle school grades will be using new textbooks.  We are continuing with study island for grades 2 through 8, using the math and language arts programs.

Two new activities will be available to our students: Destination Imagination for grades 3-5 and enrichment activities through the North Hunterdon enrichment consortium.

We are looking forward to the new school year and as always – we will do everything we can to “make their lives extraordinary”!!
